Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of love and devotion. The word Bhakti comes from the Sanskrit root word "bhaj" meaning "to partake", "to belong" and also "faith, love, and to devote oneself spiritually to a practice or deity".
In this Bhakti workshop we will be focusing in on the Anahata Chakra (4th chakra; heart chakra). The Anahata Chakra is green in color and relates to unconditional love, self-healing, and joy.
Spring is upon us and this is the perfect time to begin sowing the seeds of personal growth and development with love for oneself so that we may be of service to others in our life. We will begin by clearing out "debris" through our first 3 chakras in order to clear a path to the heart chakra. We will accomplish this through specific asanas (poses) meditations, kriyas, mudras (hand gestures), mantras (chanting/singing) and pranayama (breath).
Through these movements and sounds we will bring intentional energy to our heart chakra so that we may begin growing a loving garden for 2018! We will end the class with a Yoga Nidra Savasana.
